Bragging -

Bragging - When you are writing your resume, dont be afraid to brag a little bit.  Some may say that there is a fine line between the obnoxious, pretentious job seeker and the applicant who wants to show their stuff.  I think that the difference comes down to proving it. If you can support accomplishments with cold, hard facts do it!  Avoid vague, generalized statements touting yourself as a results oriented achiever or a visionary executive unless you can actually demonstrate that those tags suit you. Your resume is not a place to be modest.  If you dont explain to the reader what you have to offer, he or she isnt going to know, so dont hold back.  Think about you and what you have to offer.  (Self-assessment is a theme that will run through much advice from Keppie CareersTake note!) Just dont let your resume drown in unsubstantiated, fuzzy, one-size fits all, over-the-top expressions of grandeur.  Your hiring manager will thank you.

Tips For Writing A Resume For The Unschooling Person

Tips For Writing A Resume For The Unschooling PersonWriting a resume for the unschooling person is not all that different from writing one for a person who wishes to go to college. As far as good resumes go, this one is especially important. Not only because of the grade you will get but because of the money and job security it could mean for you. There are many reasons for unschooling people to look into this route. The first is because it is becoming more common for unschooling parents to go back to school and seek out their child's higher education. In addition, as more educational opportunities come to the point of being mainstream it seems to be the most desirable. This is most true for a person who wants to stay home with their child and thus does not have the time or inclination to attend day care or early education programs. And, once a child goes off to high school they are more likely to want to have a degree to get a job.On the other hand, not having a college degree will st ill provide you with great work prospects. To that end you should be prepared for an interview, but also have strong references to go by. Even if you cannot get a job right away, you should still be confident that you can earn a high salary in the future. The main advice on resumes is to write in a way that your information is presented in a professional manner. Make sure that you outline all of your accomplishments and skills in a way that they do not detract from your prospective employer's abilities to hire him or her. Also, be careful of presenting any work experience in a negative light. Make sure that your work history makes the most of your capabilities, not where you were forced to work to pay for school.A resume, in its many forms, will be one of the most important pieces of information a potential employer will have on you. Whether or not they ask is up to them, but a resume is really all you can hope for.By no means do unschooling parents try to pass themselves off as 'goo d' parents simply because they do not attend school. As someone who is very much a part of the local community, you need to be a good role model and represent your child in a positive light.
